Affiliate Disclosure & Transparency
We believe in complete transparency about how we operate, how we're compensated, and how your data is used.
What Global Soccer Events Does
Global Soccer Events is a multi-sided marketplace for youth soccer. We connect families, players, coaches, tour operators, and tournament organizers across three core services:
- International Tournament & Tour Bookings — We partner with tournament organizers and tour operators worldwide (Europe, South America, Asia, USA & Canada) and earn referral commissions when teams or individuals book through our platform.
- Guest Spot Marketplace — Coaches and team managers can post open roster spots ("guest spots") for upcoming tournaments. Individual players or families can apply to fill those spots. GSE charges a small platform fee per successful placement. Some guest spots carry a cost set by the posting team (e.g., $25 for Newtown Soccer); others are free.
- Verified Player Score (VPS) & Player Profiles — Coaches can rate players they have personally observed on a 0–5 star scale. These ratings are aggregated into a Verified Player Score visible on the player's profile. College scouts and recruiters pay a subscription fee to access detailed player profiles and coach commentary.
This disclosure is required by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to ensure you understand our business model and how we are compensated across all of these services.
Tournament & Tour Commissions
We receive referral commissions from tournament organizers and tour operators when teams or families book through our platform. Typical rates range from 8–15% of the booking value. You pay the same price whether you book through us or directly.
Guest Spot Platform Fees
When a player is successfully placed in a guest spot through our marketplace, GSE charges a small platform fee. Some guest spots also carry a separate cost set by the posting team (displayed clearly on the listing). All fees are disclosed before you apply or confirm.
Scout & Recruiter Subscriptions
College coaches, scouts, and recruiters pay a subscription fee to access full player profiles and detailed coach commentary through the GSE Scouts Portal. Basic VPS scores are visible publicly; detailed written evaluations are gated to verified scouts.
No Hidden Costs
All fees — whether a guest spot cost, a platform placement fee, or a scout subscription — are disclosed clearly before any commitment is made. We do not add undisclosed charges after booking.
Player Ratings & the Verified Player Score (VPS)
The Verified Player Score (VPS) is a 0–100 aggregate score calculated from evaluations submitted by coaches who have personally observed a player in competition or training. It is designed to give scouts and college coaches a credible, standardized measure of a player's development — similar to a credit score for athletic reputation.
To protect coaches' ability to give honest, candid feedback, GSE uses a three-tier visibility model. This is intentional: we believe coaches should be able to assess players without fear of conflict, and families should be protected from misinterpreting raw sub-scores out of context.
Tier 1 — Public
A player's overall VPS score, age group, position, and tournament history are visible to all users. Families can share this openly to showcase their player's reputation.
Tier 2 — Parent View
Parents see which tournaments generated a verified rating, the date, and any positive summary our team has authored based on the coach's feedback. Individual sub-scores and raw coach comments are not shown to parents or players. This reduces disputes and allows coaches to be candid.
Tier 3 — Scout & Admin Only
Verified college coaches, scouts, and GSE administrators can access full sub-scores (technical ability, coachability, skill-level match, talent assessment) and the coach's written commentary. This is the data that drives recruiting decisions.
Coach Accountability
All ratings are tied to a verified coach account. Coaches are identified to scouts by name and affiliation. Anonymous ratings are not permitted. Coaches who submit ratings in bad faith may have their account suspended.
Review Process
If a family believes a rating is factually incorrect or abusive, they may contact GSE to request a review. Coaches' professional opinions are not removed solely because a family disagrees with the outcome. Ratings containing factual errors or abusive language will be removed following investigation.
Ratings represent the subjective professional opinions of individual coaches and do not constitute guarantees of athletic ability, recruiting outcomes, or scholarship eligibility.
Our Partner Relationships
We maintain affiliate and commercial partnerships with the following types of providers:
- Tournament Organizers: Gothia Cup, Donosti Cup, and other domestic and international youth soccer tournaments
- Tour Operators: Companies that organize group travel packages for youth soccer teams traveling domestically or internationally
- Academy Programs: Soccer academies offering training camps, cultural experiences, and development programs
- Team Managers & Coaches: Individual coaches and team managers who post guest spots on our marketplace
Each partnership is evaluated based on quality standards, safety protocols, and community feedback. We do not accept partnerships with providers that do not meet our criteria, regardless of commission offers.
Our Commitment to You
While we earn revenue from our partnerships and subscriptions, our primary commitment is to the families, players, and coaches who use our platform. Here's what that means in practice:
Honest Comparisons
We provide objective comparisons between different tournament and guest spot options, even when one pays us a higher commission than another.
Transparent Pricing
All fees — platform, placement, and guest spot costs — are displayed before you commit. No surprise charges.
Quality First
We only recommend experiences and partners we genuinely believe serve the best interests of youth soccer players and their families.
Ongoing Support
Our relationship doesn't end at booking. We provide pre-trip preparation resources and support throughout your experience.
Questions About Our Business Model?
We believe transparency builds trust. If you have any questions about how we operate, our partnerships, our rating system, or how we're compensated, we're happy to discuss them openly.
